90 Years

About this website

This website draws a matrix of coloured boxes that represents elapsed and remaining weeks in the timespan of 90 years. The idea for this website comes from popular essay called Your Life in Weeks from TIM URBAN published at waitbutwhy.com.

I really like the his idea of visualising time as matrix, where each box is a one week of a time. This can give you a nice (retro) perspective on the goals you want to achieve in your life. I really recommend reading the original article, because I don't want to repeat Tim's ideas and thoughts here.

This website is just a tool that implements the original idea, free to use for everybody.

Technicalities

You can create your personal page with the starting date pre-setted. Just hit the button on initial matrix page after you enter the starting date from the homepage. No registration is required. Just bookmark the URL of your personal page.

I'm exploring the idea of user's private page(s) without need for any registration, email or cookies. There are also no trackers, advertisements or any unneeded bloat on this webpage. I'm dissapointed with the current state of web, where webpages (and webapplications) are full of tracking code, storing excessive ammount of cookies in users' browsers or cannot be explored without registration.

This is my side-project and want to keep it simple and clean. The idea of UUID in URL for (re)storing user-pages' is growing in my mind for a very long time. I will use this website as a test of this (I believe) innovative idea.

I hope you will find this project usefull for your life and will be returing regularly (weekly 😊). Feel free to discuss this project on a Twitter (X) thread I prepared.

Cheers,
Srigi.
